I have a Cisco Explorer HD. One moment please This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later. I phoned Rogers this morning, they reauthorized my set and had me reboot the system. No success. A tech is coming on Sat to have a look. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and, if so, what is the solution?
Go to Solution. Tech arrived yesterday and had the problem fixed in about thirty minutes. The culprit was a four foot section of cable coming through the foundation. This was very old cable have been in the house for 24 years and it was never changed so it just wore out. The tech replaced the cable plus all connectors on the new coax and I am back in business.

I have been having a similar problem and am getting quite frustrated. It all began a few months ago when I bought a new tv; my Rogers digital box wasn't compatible so I was forced to upgrade to a high def box.

Is this becoming the norm for Time Warner's cable TV service????? Channels becoming unavailable? This happens intermittently on other channels as well Also does anyone else feel as frustrated as I am with their onscreen TV guide? Been having issues with TWC for a few weeks now. From slow response to commands and some pixeling when watching HD channels.

This is not normal and can actually be caused by what seem to be very small wiring issues.
Heck it could even be a problem in your neighbors wiring. I had the same issue with one of the boxes. I noticed the line feeding the bedroom in which the box was installed was fed off several needless splitters. After redoing the lines under the house by reducing the number of splitters I improved the signal going to each box and haven't had the issue since. So my suggestion is check the line quality from the outside box to the cable box. Reason why I mentioned the splitters is a splitter does just that, they split the signal in half which reduces the quality.
I simply bought a 5-way splitter which replaced 3 2-way splitters. The fact you mention internet speed seems okay really makes me believe a line issue.
TWC will generally install a dedicated line from the box on the outside of your home to your modem. CATV gets split multiple times and isn't as important. At my home, I have to call TWC ever 6 months to 2 years to fix the signal to my home. Usually the technician dispatched runs a new line from the terminal to my house and it corrects the problem temporarily.
Other times they come up with off-the-wall suggestions like rewiring my home. Usually all it takes it re-calibrating the node to which my home is assigned, which unfortunately requires levels of escalation.
Once done I'm good for years. I am getting that message on several channels and I can't watch 27 and some other channels at all on a tv with the new dumb little box. Have you tried resetting the router? The guide is generated from the data portion on the network and feeds from the router. I sent you a private message to further assist you. Having same issue as the OP. When you say reset, is that the same as reboot?
I've tried rebooting both from the GUI and by power cycling. Neither fixes the remote guide issue. Or did you mean factory reset? I am getting messages about not being able to schedule recordings or seeing the guide a few days out, There is omething about resetting the router.
How do I do this?

Second outage in 30 days. Fix it or lower our rates. People are pissed. No wonder no one takes a cable company seriously. This company is crap.
As soon as Gibson connect is through this region we'll be swapping over. They are terrible. They better record this for training purposes. It fixed nothing. Many of our neighbors have done the same. So yes I need service as does our entire neighborhood. The problem is the ENTIRE road we live on and you can look at your service records if you want because so many of us on the road has had the same issues with your internet.
It constantly is slow and the service randomly cuts out. GetSpectrum you all should be ashamed of yourselves for turning people's service off especially with kids having to school at home. And they get away with being dog shit.I started getting "channel not available" errors a couple weeks ago on our main living room DVR STB as well as pixelation, stuttering, and choppy audio; some channels are fine while most others are having these issues, seemingly depending on their frequency.
We've had that particular box for about five years and never had any issues until now, and I can't think of any event that would've caused the sudden errors.
It's important to note that a secondary bedroom STB is functioning perfectly with no problems whatsoever. I'll see if I can drag the working secondary STB down to where the first one is, hook it up, and see if it works in place of the offending STB. I assume it won't, since everything seems to be pointing to an issue with a coax cable Maybe the cable running from the splitter outside the house and through the wall into the jack before it reaches the portion that I replaced has gone bad, perhaps?

In addition to the "what I've tried" list in my first post, I did some additional testing by running a new coax cable directly from the ONT to the STB, from the splitter to the STB, and a few other iterations, to further narrow down where the issue might be.
Based on what did and didn't work depending on what was hooked up to where, I narrowed the culprit down to the coax running from the ONT to the splitter. After poking around under my deck where the cable ran through, I discovered what appears to be the problem: it looks like something--probably a squirrel--chewed through the outer sheath of the coax down to the exposed copper wire So at least now I feel better hopefully knowing what the issue is.

I'd already scheduled a tech to come out tomorrow before I'd made this discovery; would the solution be the tech cutting out this bit of destroyed coax and patching in a new length to replace it? Or would the entire run of cable need to be replaced? Yeah, I'd considered attempting fixing it myself, but the cable runs quite a ways under the house and through the siding that I don't want to mess with it as a first attempt at doing something like this.
You know what, you may be on to something I'll definitely check it out.
There's currently 20m left in my window for the tech to arrive so, who knows, I may end up doing it myself anyway. EDIT Yep, window's over, no sign of the tech or even a call. I found the screw-on connectors you mentioned so I'll be picking up one of those tonight.
Thank you again! I'll reply again with how it goes once I've had a chance to attempt to fix. I bought up two different cable strippers and two brands of twist-on connectors last night, to be over-prepared. I tested the strippers on a spare cable I had lying around one was a dud, the other worked perfectly until I was comfortable with the feel of them, went outside and cut off the bad cable, made the new twist connection, and was done in about 10 minutes.
Everything's working perfectly now and I'm absolutely ecstatic. The only thing left to do it protect the cables so the squirrels don't go after them again. I have to say, this is great feeling. Yep all is well, no more issues. And I cancelled the appointment a couple hours after the window had passed.
